Igloo Head and Tree Head... finally done.

here are the first three pages of my new story for Flight.

Aw, man! A total cliffhanger! What'll happen to that poor dude? Flight 4 will have the answer. Flight is the anthology that the awesome fellow Kazu puts together. It is quite fancy and great looking. I am not sure when it comes out. Early next year maybe? But oh, man. There are some nice stories in there. This story continues for another 13 pages. 13 pages of explosive action.
you will go nuts when you see what happens. absolutely bananas.

i sewed one time

Back in 3rd grade i made this realistic depiction of a dragon mid-battle. Awesome yarn on awesome burlap. My mom got bummed on the sword and blood, saying it didn't need it. Contrarily, i will say that it definitely needs it. That's what happens in battle, unfortunately. ok, thanks. your pal, scottc.

The art show went splendidly. Here are some pictures of it before people were there.
Also here is a picture of the newest painting i finished right before the show... it was a commission for my friend Ray's anniversary
. That's his family eating oreo's and grilled cheese sandwiches in the middle. Because they eat those all the time. ...scottc

STUMPTOWN.

Ok, so check it out. I am going to go up to Portland to that convention called STUMPTOWN. October 28th.
I'll be up there with the Hickee guys Graham, Bagel, Raz, and Joe.

But also, when I am up there I am going to be reading my mini book Pyramid Car outloud, in front of people, at this party called Land of Fake Believe. It will be magical. You should come. Joe Sayers is also reading his book and he is very funny.

Man. Look at all these links. Links are so fun to make. Like hiding little treasure.

Battle Of The Serpents!

Actually, the serpents are kind of hanging out chatting rather than fighting. The battle is on their heads. By those smaller dudes.
-scottc.
p.s. And by serpents, i am kind of meaning dinosaurs.

Nickelodes

Hi, there, good ole blog. still chilling here? great. well, i've been doing summery things here and there. also, i did this thing for Nickelodeon magazine. it is the cover for their Comic Book insert. it's the best, the comic book insert. they always have awesome comics in there from dudes like graham annable, and sam henderson, and steve weissman and lark pien. lark pien is a girl actually and not a dude. she is awesome at comics.
anyways, this cover is for the october issue, thus the monsters. they are having a race and mummy is winning because his car is a super fast sports car that is mummified... so you can't even tell.. so i guess it's cheating a little bit? but maybe not. anyways, most of the monsters are having a real good time. except dracula. oh, man.. i just realized frankenstein isnt in that thing. what the heck? but dr. jekyll made the cut. good for that guy.
ok, later, diary.

the lost heads.

hey. so check it out. i found some heads. they were from that batch earlier..
but i forgot about them. so it's like they are brand new sort of.
that's the best feeling. like finding an old 20 dollar bill in your suit pocket after 3 years. or some other awesome similar thing.

omg. art prints. first ever.

dear everybody.
check it out! my first ever art prints! for SALE! at this awesome gallery in LA called Gallery Nucleus!
this is a momentous time. that is why i am using so many exclamation points..

most of the APE$#!T watercolor paintings are now in print form.. except for one special one i am saving for later. go see!

your pal, scottc
p.s. to the left here is an example of one of the prints, but don't worry, the prints are not this tiny. they are larger size. and totally legit and will look awesome maybe above the mantle or next to that other painting with the puppies on the rug that you might have up next to the deer head..

The Cliff Ogre

Hi, diary and everybody else!
Something new! This is for a book about mythical beasts that Fantagraphics is putting out in the fall sometime. It is going to be the best book ever is my guess. I've seen a bunch of the other artists' paintings and i am super excited.. i like them very much.
This here is a Cliff Ogre scene... they kick unsuspecting travellers into the mouths of their kids. for reals. that's what those crazy beasts do.
ok.. cool. later! -scottc

Tongue-Tied

Ok, one more old piece. And then I am will post something new. It is a piece from back before Psychonauts. This is one of the reasons I came to Double Fine... Tim dug it, so it goes. I did this one for a show called Tongue-tied. Every little scene depicts a moment in time in which nobody knows what to say. They are tongue-tied. Some of these moments I have experienced. Some I have not.
sweet, my friends and diary. later, maynards.

the Vessel

Hi, Diary. So check this out. It is a board game I made for this book called Vessel a million years back. It's really long. I never made any rules for this board game. It is the journey of a message from one person to another… and the varying methods of getting this message to the other person. It’s so crazy, diary. I hope it doesn’t make you go nuts. You are great. love, scottc

the garden of earthly delight

Ok.
Another piece of past.
This was a painting I did for a show called Gold Frame Show. For this show, everyone interpreted an old master painting.
I did Hieronymus Bosch’s Hell wing from his triptych The Garden of Earthly Delight. Because it is so awesome.
Here is my version.

p.s. I am thinking about possibly not referring to you, diary, in these posts. Does that make you feel bad? Because it’s getting old possibly. That joke. Sorry to call you a joke.. but you know what I mean.
Later, diary.

hi, diary.

before i go putting up new stuff for you to look at, i wanted to put up some old school stuff. (mostly because i have no new stuff. tbh.) the first batch of old school stuff are these eight heads from an art show i did with the hickee guys one time.
thanks for sharing this memory lane with me, diary.
